The conversation started! Woot!

The conversation started!  Woot!

I love Youtube since you can usually find whatever you are in the mood for!  One channel I found recently was The Viet Vegan:

It is funny how super excited I feel to finally meet someone who understands how hard it is to frame the talks since it should not be a "blame" type of one at all!  She has been super nice in responding so I decided to blog about it!

The main problem the indigenous have is the words used to describe us!!  There are so many things I just don't understand about how they "westerners" think so it is so great to talk with someone about it where it can be a real conversation!!

So subscribe to her even if you are not vegan, communication is a precious gift and we should encourage those who share it like she is!

I think the main thing we need to change is the words used!  I don't think she meant it in a bad way but she did say :

The oppression that Aboriginal peoples have gone through is systematic—it's been reinforced over the hundreds of years of colonization, prejudice, and discrimination. I understand the gravity of Aboriginal history and why it's important to be aware, but I'm not really sure what we can do to atone. If you have any suggestions for productive and effective activism, I'm all ears.

It is sort of the "pat answer" we always hear from westerners who do not understand how rude it sounds!  I know she did not mean it rudely, no worries there!  It is why we need to give them a new vocabulary to use!

Colonialism changed to "Ladronism" as ladron is the Spanish word for thief.  Use the correct terminology from the start!

Systematic changed to continuing to this day, since it is!

Oppression of aboriginals changed to suppression of the Indigenous by armed and dangerous psychotic war criminals…

Aboriginal history changed to thriving vital cultures as we are not relics!!!

Atone and/or Apologize changed to :  I accept you as the rightful rulers of these lands...

What we need to do is establish that by "productive and effective" what you (lol, you meaning westerners as a whole and not you The Viet Vegan) are really saying is you do not want to change much.  That is where it becomes so hard to go on!

One thing we need to establish firmly is if you (your parents I guess I mean) had come to the indigenous and said I need a safe haven you would have been welcomed, for a bit at least!  Enough to catch your breath and make plans for the future.

See, when you put it in your mind that it is 100% our choice, then you get to the place you need to be in your mind to have a "productive and effective" conversation!

When you said that part:

When I said I don't see myself as an immigrant, I meant that I was born here. Where do I belong if not here?

It did make me smile since it always sounds like "you have no say or choice about it so shut up already"…  We need to find a way to get everyone into the mindset that the indigenous of these lands (and there are so, so, so many!!!) have the only say!!!  Once westerners can finally reach "reality" then true and effective activism can occur!!

When you are born into a system you are a part of (i.e. belong to) that system.  When that system is a criminal one and you become aware of it, then you must decide whether you are a criminal too or…  You can not just say "I was born here   ", you need to finish the sentence!!  Accept responsibility for your part, however unwitting!!  That small change can change everything!  If you can look at how things are and say "I want to change, please tell me how!"  ...

I really want to know how to phrase it so I don't make you squirm in your seat or feel like I mean you harm or think badly of you!!  I really don't, but can't think of a way to phrase it correctly!  You can imagine millions of people wanting to find a way to communicate these same ideas!  We so need to throw out that whole "blame game" mentality and find a way to just talk without all that "history" coming between us!

That is how we can truly change the world, by just this, learning to understand each other!!  I truly am feeling so overjoyed to be having this conversation!  I think "miscommunication" between indigenous and westerners needs to stop!  There is a big difference between what you say and what we hear!

Lol, it is so hard sometimes!  Wanting to explain things that should not need explaining!  I have a whole series planned on it, trying to use humor to ease everyone into it!  To a Westerner this happened ages ago but to me, it just happened, I am the first generation born away from my village!!  Yes, not hundreds of years ago, but in your lifetime!

One is where I show a blond haired blue eyed woman dressed like a normal housewife but with a huge gun pointed at me.  I try to explain how it is really kind of rude to point a gun at someone like this and how some might even think of it as hostile.  She says she needs to protect herself from us.  I tell her look around, please. You are in my house, pointing a gun at me and my family, not the other way around!!!  She thinks about it, her eyes looking around the room to see if there is anything she really wants before deciding to agree.  She says but how can I not seem "hostile"?  I say, well you can give me the gun for a start!

Short little skits like that, meant to be humorous but educational too…

Hugs and feel free to comment!!

weirdest sleep schedule!

weirdest sleep schedule!

Had a cold about a month ago now and have not been able to get back to a good sleep schedule yet!  Starting to drive me a bit crazy and I wanted to take you with me, hehe!

I try to go to sleep at a reasonable hour but end up waking up in the middle of the night still!  Tonight went to be around 11pm but ended up waking up at 2:30 or so…  sigh!

Anyone else having trouble with their sleep schedule?  I love being up late so that part is not the problem, it is feeling like I sleep the mornings away!  I guess as long as I work from home it is okay but so want to try to get into a morning routine if I can.  Seems so hard though!

How is everyone doing?

I am doing pretty good actually!  Finally decided "d*mn the torpedoes, full steam ahead!" for my videos.

My goofy haircut!

Hard to tell from this angle but the back looks so weird!  It is very uneven, that stage where you are dying to trim it so it is even but if you have the patience to wait a week or two it will get past this goofy stage and you get longer hair quicker…

Hard to tell from this shot but I am wearing eyeshadow only under my eyes, sort of a blush color and none on the lids.  The bottom eye is lined with a slightly darker red.  I have on purple mascara and purple lipstick.

Lol, it came about when I was very sick over a month ago now.  I decided Time is short and not to be afraid anymore!  So I cut my hair in the mohawk I always wanted.  Except I had never done it before so accidentally cut off half the mohawk before I realized what I was doing!  Yikes!  Had a daughter help me after that and we shaved the sides of my head!  I let it grow out right away since I had lost the long look I wanted so decided to let it grow out again.

But that is what delayed the videos I have planned since I did not like the way it looked as it grew out!  :p   It has gotten long enough now that it looks more like a bad haircut then a grown out mohawk!  :p

I am half tempted to crowd fund getting my tattoos and pieces I finally have the courage to do!  but can't seem to get funding for my Art so doubt I can get funding for my personal stuff  :p   On my left wrist I am doing a @Slash tattoo of a skull head and his hair and hat and on my right wrist a matching skull face of me wearing a traditional beaded headdress facing him…  Will be inspiration for my work!!

lol, my daughter drew this so I could show my idea...

Now the other wrist would have something like this where it is facing the @Slash tattoo and have a beaded design on it like the one shown...

When I do it I will show pics!  Well, going to try to write a bit…  Been doing writing off and on, love writing!  I hope you are well!

Graffiti / Digital Artist Dream…

Graffiti / Digital Artist Dream…

Man, I had such a real dream!!!  I had finally gotten my studio and was working with a graphic artist who loved graffiti and shared my idea to turn it into living art!

It was so real though, the heat from the lights, the posing of my models, the crafting each pic!

We had a big space we were working in, against a black background and just beside it a little box that had the digital rendition.  We started off with plain one color outfits for the models then he would do just a few graffiti lines then go digitize the rest of it.

Our challenge was to make it look "come to life" as I had the model do poses we had planned out beforehand!   I could see his digital image right there as I worked and doing something like having her lean a bit forward would make it turn into an animal, or posing more to another direction would make it look like the art was popping out of the wall!

I wonder if it was sort of like that dance movie (I forget which one but maybe Step Up) where the museum art was taken over by The Mob.  Except we created the art around the models.

We are all working so hard to get it done, on our last one and I kept telling myself I should write this down.  I was confused telling myself I am nearly there!  I kept saying I did not want to forget and that I would never forget this! Lol, then finally realizing I was just dreaming!

Half so disappointing but also half so exciting!  Can you imagine if there is a digital artist somewhere who really loves graffiti too and finds this blog?  Like creating our own destiny!  I need to work to get my studio up and running, what is that saying?  "build it and they will come!"

So, if you know a digital artist and like my work let them know about this dream so they can get started on their designs  :p

Nocturnal

Nocturnal

I sometimes think it is a more natural way to live, since I mainly feel very creative at night.  I haven't typed it up but been daydreaming scenes.  I think if I can picture them then it should be good.

I also plan to begin filming tomorrow, hopefully I can get some good footage.  We plan to redo some of our footage from our first doll one this weekend too…  I am excited to make the intro to my Youtube channel video finally!  My hair is still pretty goofy looking but at least halfway decent.

It will be nice to finally get the video portion going!  Been delaying it, half nerves I guess…  half haircut though!  I also finally got a bit up on Patreon to make it more interesting to visit the page there.  Once i get a dozen videos or so up on it I will begin to push it more but right now it is kind of bland and boring…  Or not boring but not much there yet…  My Instagram is going good, been posting photo shoots we do there, my favs of the shoot.

My writing can't keep up with my thoughts though.  I do tend to think it through before tying stuff out.  Is that how you do it?  So it feels familiar as you type?  Some is spontaneous of course, I let my fingers the what pops into my mind as I write since you can always edit it out later on.  I wrote the dragon one from a dream, I think I posted it here.  If not it is on my Patreon too.  But that was a cool dream.

Did I mention it?  It was from a tv series or movie I was making, this dream I mean.  I was watching it as if I had already made it and it was being shown.  It was pretty cool since it followed the whole "1,000 death curse" of my bride of sorrows theme pretty well though set in China.  The beginning was set in the future after the Westerners have mostly died out leaving a spoiled earth behind.  The indigenous are left with scattered westerners.  They left like a trail of slime, they would occupy a place and build a nice big apartment complex to live in but never wanted to upkeep it so when it began to go downhill they would simply steal the next plot of land and build it all over again.  So Nature and the indigenous would take over the ones left far behind since none liked getting close to these ones.

But it begins with the building closet to the newest settlement.  by now it has been abandoned 30 or so years but the indigenous (in this case Chinese and Asian) moved in, fixed it up and take care of it as best they can.  Each decade the Westerners forget "how to" so by this time they forget how to build new ones.  This leaves them with a big problem as the only way to go now is back the way they came.  They talk this Chinese businessman to act as their middleman since they know they will meet resistance.

It has taken about 5 years to get the ownership of the building from everyone.  During this time the families have mysteriously begun fighting and breaking apart.  A group of teens are living in the very basement that was once an underground road.  It is long filled with a lot of garbage now.  The plan by the rich developer was to put all the garbage into this tunnel then guide the water to sort of flush it to the next area leaving this one a lot nicer.  The teens do not know of this plot, only that things are weird and they are trying to figure it out.

The main character is a girl from this group.  She loves to be on her own and her favorite place in the whole world is the rooftops.  She still takes care of her family, they stay together and they all share a piece of bread for breakfast.  She ceremoniously wraps her in wax paper and puts it into her lunch pail and carries it to the roof.  Though she doesn't actually sing, her heart bursts out into song each time she climbs the ladder and reaches her head over the brim.  Usually there is no one around on the roof.  The fancy are is on the other side from where she sits, the sky lights for the building between them though there are paths to get back and forth.  She begins to see far away a girl about her age on the roof.

Fate brings them together one day since they all take the same alleyway to get to the school.  the alley has many fire escape type stairs and balconies so it is an active place but from about 3 stories up.  The second and bottom stories were considered too dangerous to live in so they had no idea renovations have been going on in them.  The one girl is just in front of our girl one morning and scampers up a stairs to do a sort of jump from balcony to balcony that some of the more energetic children do.  A nice big peach drops out of her bag without her being aware of it.  Our girl sees it and is amazed as peaches are so rare these days and only for the very very rich.  She thinks the other girl must be a thief and is excited as she always wanted to learn such things of herself

She is torn between sharing the peach with her family as an awesome treat or giving it back to her friend.  Or she now pictures them as friends, the one teaching her how to be a master thief (as only the best could pull off stealing a peach, right??!!) and she will teach her the things she knows.  She pictures them as practically best friends and she has not even seen her up close yet.  She decides to give the girl back her peach.  She wants to leave it in a place the girl is sure to find it but no one else.   She decides to do it on the fire escape on the rich side that she usually avoids.

that is when she discovers all the renovations going on.  She is on the roof enjoying "dinner", one long noodle since she saves the rest for her little sister.  the girl catches her attention and waves the peach smiling and to our girls surprise comes over to give her a piece.  She leaves just as quickly and our girl feels guilty as she eats it.  She goes down to the group of teens to talk it over and hey explore and find out massive changes have been made so all the lower areas that were too dangerous and never fixed up are now looking very good indeed.

Wow, just realized i am writing the back story to it…  hehe, maybe I will copy and paste it to a page of it's own…  :p
